Well I am taking just a moment to reflect. I am now about 13 weeks away from completing my 10th year of teaching..WOW!! One I don't feel old enough..and two..am I really old enough for them to let me teach these kids??? This past couple of weeks has felt as if there has been a full moon every night. Kids are restless, lots of emotions in kids and just a general sense of "out of sorts". Lots of tears have been shed, lots of opportunities to talk to kids..not just about academics. Sometimes you wonder why you teach..are you really making a difference. Friday a young lady brought me something. The cute teddy bear you see. Her mom gave it to her that morning and said.."Give this to your favorite teacher." Well the student brought it to me..Since I was her favorite. One of those moments that lets you know..."Yeah, I do make a difference..they do hear me (some days)..and mostly..they know I care." I am so very blessed to do what I do. It is more than a job..it is an experience. So to any and all the teachers out there..Thanks for running this race with me!
