2 months is WAY too long!!

Well I never meant to go this long without posting on our Blog! Summer just got busy at the end and we are already in the 3rd week of the new school year! Wow!

Summer was great this year..for probably the only time in my teaching career..I really had 3 months off. Well almost..one week shy of being a full 3 months! So enjoyed it while I had it.
The new year is off to a good start. Our building is still under construction so there are guys in hard hats everywhere. They should be done by Novemeber with the final stages.
I am no longer in Portable Land! I moved inside this year and the move is bitter sweet! No longer do I control my own thermostat...no longer can I open a window for fresh air....no longer can Sandie and I just shout at one another through the double doors...Sniff Sniff...I am sad.
But at least the bathroom is closer now. :-)

Brian has been plenty busy at work recently...not many extra long days but busy ones.

We did enjoy our weeks vacation back in July and the recent 3 day Labor Day weekend.

We went to Texarkana for the weekend. My mom turned 60 and a friend threw her a surprise party! We had a blast!
Brian also got to hang one more night with the old crew..the guys all got together for a night of HALO 2. It was good to be home with family and friends.

Many of you know that my grandmother has been going through tests to determine the pathology and state of a tumor in her lung. She had a PET scan done today and the results from that will determine the need for surgery or not. We are so thankful that the tumor is benign..Praise the Lord! Now we just hope it is not active. Your prayers are appreciated!

Mom arrives tomorrow but not for scrapbooking...The Cricut is not coming to Dallas. :-)
She has a booth at a craft fair in my school district this weekend. So Saturday we will be selling her wares! Hope she does well.

The fall looks as busy as ever...my calendar is already full. But I love this time of year...the temperature is dropping..WOO HOO...65 when I went to work this morning! I love everything about fall. Especially the Fair!! Can't wait for a Fletcher's Corny Dog..and maybe a Fried Snickers..the winner of the Fried Food Competition this year won with a Fried Cookie Dough...don't know if I will try that one or not.

Well I do believe that is quite enough for now. I really hope to do better about posting to our blog.
Hope this finds you having a blessed day!!

Don't she look great! Love ya Mom!

Cystic Fibrosis

Cystic Fibrosis..know what it is? http://www.cff.org/ can explain all the details.
Our friends Paul and Traci have just learned that their new baby girl has CF. (Their blog is listed on the right side of our page "The Libertos"..you can read up on them)
They sent us some information on CF and the website listed above.
If you would please...take a moment and lift them up in your prayers. I would appreciate it and I know they would also.
Maybe take a moment to educate yourself about CF and pray for all the families and lives of people connected to CF.

Thanks and hope this finds you having a blessed day!

Well it's about time!! :-)

For the past hour I have been reading everyone else's blogs and then realized that ours is WAY out of date...so figured I could to a little updating!!!

Summer has been really nice so far...have had lots of time to work on projects and enjoy the time off. Brian had vacation last week and we really enjoyed the week together. We spent some time up in Oklahoma at his parents and then back here for some DFW fun. We saw the Cubs lose to the Rangers (what a shock!) but we did get to see Sammy Sousa hit is 600th homerun. That was cool.

We also spent a day in Ft. Worth.. I will dub that day "Star Wars!! Star Wars!!! Star Wars!!" (if only I had remembered to take the R2-D2 cup!!) The Ft. Worth Museum of Science is hosting a Star Wars exhibit...so of course we had to make a visit!! My husband had a blast!!

The rest of the week we spent hanging out by the pool and NOT living by any schedule!
Oh and we added a car to the family..No pics of it yet..but now Brian gets to drive with Air Conditioning!!! Huge blessing was...the car was GIVEN to us!! God is so amazing and good!!

Well today is filled with 'errand running' for me..so guess I had better get to it!!

Us at the baseball game!

Sammy hits 600th homerun!

Star Wars junkies!!

My very own Storm Trooper!

This sign just made me laugh!! So had to have a pic!

:-) It just does!

No stupendous news from around here..just enjoying the time off. VBS is next week..so time to get geared up for those ankle-biters!!
:-) Looking forward to a great week!

How did this get started?...

Let's see,

I think it started when Madeline Murray O'Hare complained

She didn't want any prayer in our schools.

And we said, OK...

Then, Someone said you better not read the Bible in school,

The Bible that says

"Thou shalt! Not kill,

Thou shalt not steal,

And love your neighbors as yourself,"

And we said, OK...

Dr. Benjamin Spock said

We shouldn't spank our children

when they misbehaved

because their little personalities

would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem.

And we said,

An expert should know what he's talking about.

So we won't spank them anymore...

Then someone said

Teachers and principals better not

Discipline our children when they misbehave.

And the school administrators said

No faculty member in this school

Better touch a student when they misbehave

Because we don't want any bad publicity,

And we surely don't want to be sued.

And we accepted their
Reasoning...

And the entertainment industry said,

let's make TV shows and movies that promote

Profanity, violence and illicit ...

And let's record music that encourages

Rape, drugs, murder, suicide, and themes...

And we said,

it's just entertainment

And it has no adverse effect

And nobody takes it seriously anyway,

So go right ahead.

Now we're asking ourselves

Why our children have no conscience,

Why they don't know right from wrong,

And why it doesn't bother them to

Kill strangers, classmates or even themselves.

Undoubtedly,

If we thought about it long and hard enough,

We could figure it out.

I'm sure it has a great deal to do with...
