Texas State Fair 2012

Its that time again, time for greasy food, people watching, new car droolin' with a side of barnyard fun.  Its the Texas State Fair. Yesterday we headed out early to get to the fair before the crowds.  The weather was quite chilly and drizzly at times but we forged ahead and had a great time.

We started out by checking out the vendors in the Colosseum and of course I found a new kichen "gadget", the Miracle Whisk, and its pretty dandy. Then we headed over to the Livestock area for J to see some moo cows. He was quite impressed and pretty much pointed the entire time we were in the building.  We of course had a Fletcher's Corny Dog for lunch along with our ice cold root beer as we strolled through all the latest and greatest at the car show.  Brian and I shared a Fried Snickers for an after lunch sweet and finished off our trip with our annual tradition of a Funnel Cake!  This year we ventured out a bit and had the Red Velvet Funnel Cake topped with icing, powdered sugar and chocolate! Oh My!!   J had a great time and I think he was asleep in the car before we got out of the parking lot.  A great day, great memories filled with lots of laughs and smiles.

Howdy Folks This is Big Tex!

Look Mom! I'm on TV!!

Checking out the animals!

I love my sling, it was so easy for J to see everything.

Ready to Rock N Roll through the fair!

This very fun VW Bug. It was covered in the Texas State Flag and map!

The delicious Red Velvet Funnel Cake!
