Thankful for Co-Pays

So the past month has been quite the roller coaster ride. Three days into me returning to work J man was sick with a headcold. 14 days later he was still sick and we had a new problem...major spit up, coughing and gagging. Nights became sleepless again for all of us and worries were up for little man. There seemed to be this lingering congestion and a nightly round of coughing/gagging. Four visits to the pediatrician, one to urgent care and now one to the GI Specialist..uhm..I am kinda tired of doctors..but thankful that we have co-pays because that means we have insurance which means we can take our child to the doctor when we need. THAT is a huge blessing. To keep this post on the shorter side, it seems that J mans problem stems from a milk allergy that then made normal baby reflux/spit up a much bigger problem. After trying a soy formula for 48 hours last weekend something told me to take it up a step to Similac Alimentum, the hypoallergenic formula. He has improved everyday since. The GI doctor said it will take up to 2 weeks to see full results but that we are headed in the right direction. The only current concern is weight. J hasn't gained any significant weight, has actually lost a couple of ounces, over the past 2 weeks. This is only a slight concern because in the past couple of days J man has wanted more to eat which means his intestines/stomach/gut are healing. So we are making 6 ounce bottles from here on out!! Time to chub it up!! Brian and I were both so pleased with Dr. O and glad we went ahead with the appointment. So we spend the rest of his first year on Alimentum (please some Similac rep read this post and send us a free case ;-) ) and just before his first birthday we will do a test for a true milk allergy. Most kids outgrow any milk allergy by the time they are one. So for now, we have disembarked from the roller coaster ride and will just enjoy the Merry-Go-Round for now!

I'm sorry to hear of all your baby boy has been dealing with but thankful you are on the right track in his wellness.

As one who has seen five specialist this year and many trips back and forth to them and two trips to the E.R. I too am thankful for co-pays no matter how high because it means GOD has blessed us with medical coverage which means He's blessed hubby with a job to have medical coverage and I give GOD the praise!

Of course GOD IS THE GREAT PHYSICIAN so I trust Him to use whatever means...medicines or direct healing from His touch.

Praying for your baby boy.

Hugs!
