Well since Valentine's Day is fast approaching and that always gets me thinking about chocolate, (like I really need a holiday to think about chocolate..but it sounded good) I thought I would start posting a few of my favorite chocolate recipes. I am not the creator of any of these recipes..simply the composer...and eater!
Back in college I attended a friends wedding and had this divine chocolate spread. Well the bride's mom actually did the catering and was kind enough to share the recipe. So I have attracted many a new friend through the years with this one.
Enjoy!!
May I present!!
Fabulous Chocolate Spread!!
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
½ cup chocolate syrup (like Hershey’s)
1 (12 oz.) pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 box chocolate graham crackers
Clear, plastic wrap
Cream together cream cheese & chocolate until smooth and well blended.
Spread a piece of plastic wrap on your counter.
Pour about ½ the bag of chocolate chips in a pile in the center of the wrap.
Blob the cream cheese mixture on top of the chips.
Use the plastic wrap to help you form a ball, making sure to add chocolate chips as you work, in order to cover entire ball with chips.
Once you have a nicely shaped ball. Wrap the plastic wrap tightly around ball and place in refrigerator. Allow to set for at least 1 hour.
Serve with Chocolate Graham Crackers.
